COVID-19 prevention protocols
Health and regulatory guidelines in place
A corporate task force composed of Cantex senior and regional leaders convened in early spring 2020. This group monitors the guidelines published by federal, state, and local health and regulatory agencies and develops the company’s operational, tactical, and logistical implementation.
Infection control personnel and program
An on-site Infection Control Preventionist at each facility oversees that facility’s infection control program. State agencies continue to conduct on-site and focused reviews of facility infection control processes.
Enhanced cleaning and disinfection
Equipment and surfaces in shared spaces are cleaned and disinfected following CDC recommendations and using the appropriate EPA-approved products for COVID-19 prevention.
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- All personnel wear an appropriate face mask while in the facility. Additional PPE, such as N95 respirators, gowns, face and eye shields, and gloves are used where appropriate.
- Supply par levels are monitored daily and routinely restocked. We maintain strategically positioned stockpiles for rapid deployment to geographies in need.
COVID-19 training and education
Ongoing training and education are priorities of our company, as well as federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Cantex is committed to training, including CDC training on the proper way to don, wear, and doff personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce the spread of infection.
Social distancing
When they leave their rooms, residents should wear a face mask, perform hand hygiene, limit their movement in the facility, and keep six feet between themselves and other residents.
Hand hygiene
Frequent hand hygiene and proper hand-washing with soap and water are standard precautions. Hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the facility.
Visitation restrictions per local authorities
While visitation guidelines still vary widely depending on the facility’s location and factors such as local positivity and vaccination rates, Cantex is staying abreast of all changes and accommodating re-opening as allowed.
